DAVID MILLÁN

David Millán is a Colombian-Ecuatorian drummer, performer, producer and composer based in Berlin, with a master's degree in jazz performance from the University of the Arts in Berlin, Germany. Musically focused as a drummer, composer and producer of jazz, latin, world music, pop and hip hop.

During his undergraduate studies he lived in Ecuador where he was able to work as a musician in many Latin American styles such as jazz, salsa, timba, currulao, cumbia, samba, Andean music, merengue, Latin jazz, hip hop, pop among others.
He has been able to participate with these genres in many stages, playing currulao, salsa and Afro-Colombian music at the Petronio Alvarez festival in Cali - Colombia, playing jazz, Afro-Ecuadorian music and Latin jazz at the Ecuador Jazz festival, rap, hip hop, jazz and fusion in other projects.
He has been able to share the stage in concert with different renowned international artists such as: Los Van Van de Cuba, Totó la Momposina, Herencia de Timbiqui, among others. In 2020 he began to venture into and study in depth musical production (mixing and mastering) some of his projects and compositions, starting with the first album of his pop project "Project Freedom" recording in the middle of the pandemic in 2020. In 2021 he released his first contemporary jazz album "Familia Freunde and Friends" with his own compositions, mixing and producing it.
In 2023 he released his new album "Amor" with his own compositions, venturing into genres such as afro pop, latin pop, calypso, hi life afrobeat, pop rock and ballads; mixing and producing it.
He has worked as a performer and session musician for various groups such as Los Swing Original Monks, Elementales, La Tunda, Franzisco Quiroz, among others, recording some albums and singles. He currently works as a musician or producer for almost 15 different projects. focusing strongly into sound, dynamics and musicality intro drumming which he is well known for in the music scene.
He also works as a producer and composer or performer in various jazz, Latin jazz, Fusion, world music, afro music, hip hop and pop projects.

Nowadays he lives in Berlin - Germany where he works as a full time drummer of almost 20 different bands supporting the local and international scene.
